I am trying to install Creator 2010 and I get an error message Must Install Creator 2010 before Content can be installed and then it starts to rollback installation of various parts before it just finishes and says it could not install. I am running Vista with all the latest updates but nothing works!

Do you have the download version of Creator 2010? It sounds like you are trying to install the content before the program. you have to install the program file first, then the content file.

If you have a single disc check that these registry items are removed before installing.

....

I checked and did not find any of those listed - I did find this one:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{DB9C43F7-0B0F-4E43-9E6B-F945C71C469E}

I tried the "Clean install" instructions *really uninstall instructions and this didn't help either.

Can I take a look at your log files? I'll send you instructions on how to get them.

Those registry items are for the Pro version. I'm guessing you don't have that.

Correct I have Roxio Creator 2010 "Special Edition" but when I go into the uninstall in the registry I still don't see any registry items that are connected to Roxio.

Those registry entries are for 32-bit operating systems.
For 64-bit look in the WOW6432 folder
ie. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

I'm having the exact same problem installing Roxio Creator 2010 Plus. I followed all the instructions for a clean install but get the error message that I must install Roxio Creator 2010 Plus before I can install the content. I've checked the registry and I do not have any of the registry entries listed above in my WOW6432 folder. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit.

So no one has any ideas on how I can fix this?

You tacked a 'me too' on a thread that is almost a year old.

Start a new thread, say exactly what problem you're having and also list your computer specs
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
