NOTE: I know just enough about computers to be dangerous!
I've been using Creator 6 for many many years. I'm running XP Pro SP3 on my main/new computer and have SP2 on my 'old' computer. Creator 6 has been installed and running on both old and new computers for over 1 year.
I noticed alot of hangups on the new computer and wanted to reinstall. I did that and all kinds of bad things happened, too many to recount including the dreaded blue screen system error (solved with a cdr4_xp.sys file update).
So I went back to the old computer and did the clean install there first as a trial run. It worked out fine and I even burned a CD.
Now on to the new computer. I thought I was FINALLY home free...NOT. I click on the icon and the initial screen pops up, but if I click on Creator Classic nothing happens. If I click again it beeps at me.
If I click on the Disc Copier option I get the following message: "The Certificate file is missing or has been corrupted. Please reinstall".
I did another clean install and it still happened. I did a repair and it still happened.
Then I thought it could be because I had re-installed it first on the old computer (maybe roxio is monitoring that) so I disabled my internet connection on the old computer.
I don't suppose anyone here can help me? I feel like I'm in never never land.
btw - For reasons too long to explain, I've prevously installed and uninstalled creator 7 and my new computer originally came with 9 which I unistalled. Don't know if any of that might make a difference.
By the way I'm using Easy CD Creator 6/UN

Yes, we are on the same page.
As mentioned above, I DID have EMC 9 and 7 on the computer at some point. I thought I had completely removed all of those files. Is there a chance something is lurking in there?

I should also mention that in solving some of the problems I had after reinstall I included the follwoing updates:
pxengine3_00_58a
Roxio DriverFixEZ_Installed
RoxioUpdatecdr4_53_71
I may have also run one called RoxioEngine_v6.2.0.134 - I can't remember.
One other thing I noticed. I compared the registry entries for the one that's working to the one that isn't. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE; SYSTEM; CurrentControlSet; Services; Cdr4_xp there is one noticeable difference. Under the second entry 'Enabled' the computer that's working says 0x02000001 (33554433). The one that isn't working says 0x00000001 (1). Could that make any difference?
I'm afraid to alter the registry on this issue because it's the whole cdr4_xp file that caused me to have a system failure before I found that patch mentioned above. I hate that blue screen!
