easy vhs to dvd disk question

just loaded the software and clicked on plug and play...got stumped on the disk..kept getting error "no recognizable disk in drive"..tried sony/tdk brand dvd+r 4x 4.7gb..do i have to use a specific kind on dvd in order to get this running.can someone help????

What is the make/model of you burner? Its possible that you might need -R DVDs but we won't know untill your identify your burner.
BTW, your much better off if you first capture the video to your hard drive instead of trying to do the capturing/burning all at once.
