In the last two days this program has stopped responding when I try to record either mp3 or wav format on to CD. I have the same version on two different computers and the same has happened on both. I use XP Pro SP3 and have recently done windows updates.

Help

Well looks like something in the updates killed it! Or at least something you applied to both PC's...

Try rolling back on one machine to see if it helps.

What version of Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player do you have on those machines?
P4 @3.20GHz on Albatron PX-865PE Pro II with 2GB DDR-SDRAM, FX5900XT video, Viewsonic monitors,
BENQ DW1640, in XP Pro and Windows 7

I blame it all on Global Warming / Global Cooling / Global Staying the Same  [pick one]

Most likely by updating to WMP 11 and IE8, you broke ECD 6.. It is known that IE7/IE8  does break any Roxio version from EMC 7.5 and before.

What version of WMP and IE did you have previously?
