Well, to add to this thread, I am running Easy VHS to DVD on Windows 7 (x64). I was trying to transfer some old VHS home movies to DVD but the software keeps saying "protected signal" and aborting. I found in support that SP2 was supposed to fix this. I tried to install SP2 but the installer "could not find Easy VHS on my system". Then I checked my software version and found this: version 1.1.125 SP2 4.50.13 Build 111B25F VHS 450BR4A, VHS.
So now, I assume I HAVE SP2 already, but the software is worthless to me, as it won't permit me to record UNCOPYRIGHTED MATERIAL.
I'm getting ready to return it, as it is for me, worthless.

In place of your raving, why not tell us a little more about your Source as well as your hookup.
The SP1 & SP2 stopped the Protected Signal error as soon as they were applied… That means we need to look elsewhere.
Also describe your PC to Source hookup and you PC specs too.
