Hey Guys,
I am some what new at using video edditing software and am completly confused about a few things that I hope you guys can help me with.
I have been using video wave in creator 2009 and now 2010 to create videos that I upload to Phanfare or Youtube and also watch on my computer. After I finish my production I click output then Export as. This is where I get confused. I always want the best possible quality but I do not know what I should be exporting as. I would like to continue to upload to Phanfare & Youtube but also start to make DVD's with my video productions. Under purpose I always choose both. Under video file quality I pick random things like Blue Ray HQ, MPEG-2 high def 1080p, MPEG-2 for DVD high Quality. I am also doing my video recording in Standard Definition if that makes a difference as well. I tried to use MY DVD today and wanted to know if it really matters what format I exported my video in if I want to make SD DVD's. Also instead of exporting video as a video file shouild I just send my productions to My DVD? I really do not know what I am doing and just need a little direction.
Thanks for any help, suggestions, advice or direction that you guys have for me.
Erik

Selecting the quality when creating a DVD depends somewhat on the length of your video production. A standard 4.7GB DVD holds 60 minutes of video at best quality (HQ). Any more and the video has to be compressed with a resulting loss in quality of course. If you created your project in Videowave then save your project as a VW project file (has extension dmsm). Then exit VW and launch myDVD and add the dmsm project files using the Add Video/Photo option.
When "Exporting As" from Videowave to upload sites like YouTube you will have to check with the site what format and video file size they accept. I would think that you will never be able to create a file for uploading your project using the best quality since the file would be to huge.
I don't understand what you mean by "selecting both" for purpose. That has nothing to do with quality and refers only to the templates available in the drop down box. Those selections are for templates for selecting formats when outputting to NTSC or PAL formats.
