Using 'copy and convert' I am trying to convert DVD video into MPG or WMV format.

Issue:<br>
After successfully caching the video, and pressing 'GO' button, the Encoding dialogue box appears briefly and then indicates that the encoding process has finished. I attempt to open the newly created file, however the file is empty (0 kb). I then try again, and this time during the encoding process, the dialogue box freezes without any progress being made. Hope you can help with this? Many thanks, Jon

OK - here are the steps that I have taken:

1. Open Roxio Creator 2010 and click on "Copy & Convert Video"
2. Add Video source by clicking on the 'Movies' Icon and selecting the appropriate chapter from my DVD
3. This then starts the 'caching process.
4. Once the caching process is completed (about 5 mins), I then select the desired output format on the right, which s 'Iphone'. I also choose the destination folder for the output file.
5. I then click on the 'GO' button to begin the encoding (converting) process.

This is where the problem begins...

In a matter of seconds the encoding process says 100% complete - Phase 1 of 1 (I would have thought it would take longer than this to convert and save in the new file format)

I then go into "My documents' folder to view the converted file. And it is not there - well actually the icon is there but it contains no information ( 0kb in size)

I can only assume that something has gone wrong in the encoding process???

Any Ideas???

Try copying the DVD, to your hard drive, first, then go through the convert process, from the files on your hard drive.

If it is an encrypted commercial DVD, it won't happen, though, because it is illegal to do so, and the Roxio software won't convert it.

Life is good!

Hi there,

The DVD is definately not encrypted.  I have tried your suggestion without any luck.   The problem seems to be the encoding process and not the copying.

It is still ouputing an empty file...

regards,

Jon
