I just installed Roxio Creator 2010 straight out of the box, and installed SP1 update.

There is *supposed* to be a button that links movie "chapters" to a selected "menu",
but that button is not displayed on any menu I can find.

I googled this problem & it appears I am not the only person to have this problem,
but I have not found a solution to this problem.

BTW: This is the "myDVD" component.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!
Rick

BTW: This is the "myDVD" component...

FYI

What are you calling a 'chapter'? Most users think that adding a video to the Main Menu can be a 'chapter' , but in reality, MyDVD treats those as individual movies.

So we are on the same page - a 'chapter' is PART of a movie the viewer can jump to using the Skip button on the DVD player's remote.

For example when you insert a commercial DVD like Transformers into your DVD player, you will see a PLAY button and a SCENES button. To get to individual 'chapters', you select Scenes which will take you to a submenu where you may see thumbnails of different scenes. You will NEVER see the chapter thumbnails on the Main Menu.

It's quite easy to do this in MyDVD.

Hmmm - in previous [older] versions of myDVD, you could group all movie chapters
into a sub-menu (linked to the root menu, typically).

The documentation states that there is supposed to be a "Generate chapter menu(s) and link to selected button."
control button but I cannot find anything like that...

Any ideas?

Ah... There is only one situation where that does not show up. DO NOT right click on the movie in the Movie tab. Yes, you can choose Edit Chapters there, but it does not generate menus because you are in the Movie Tab on the MENU TAB.

To see the Generate Submenu option you must be on the Menu Tab and/editing the MENU. You have two choices: Right click on the button you created when you added the video and choose Edit Chapters -or - Right Click on the Button name in the tree on the left and choose Edit Chapters.
Has worked this way since Version 8.

Thanks!

I *was* right-clicking on the movie, so you are correct!

I will give this a try...

I think this will get you going... wink.gif When you are in the 'movie' tab, you are no longer editing the menu.
