When I try to open EMC8 the message "Certificate file is missing" comes up.
When I try to reinstall, same message.
When I try to uninstall, same.
Searching through Roxio I can't even get a definition.
I'm thinking of a full system restore, but I'd rather not.
Desperate due to impending wedding. please help!

Download, install, and run the Microsoft Cleanup Utility. Get rid of all Roxio and Sonic entries. Then, download and install the latest Microsoft Installer. I think it is 3.1.
Reboot, and try to install the EMC software, again.
Life is good!

Make sure that you have administrative rights when editing the registry and when installing Creator 8.
It does not matter that the post is about Creator 7. The same steps apply to Creator8.
