I just upgraded my kodak Z740 camera to Kodak Z980.  I've been using Creator 9 with no problems in importing the Z740 video files.  I insert the clips & compiles them nicely into a DVD playable movie.  I just imported 2 clips from the Z980 which was recorded in the same formats/quality as the Z740.  Those familiar with the Z980 - is was the medium quality setting.  The z740 files played in the DVD & the Z980 files were silent.  This is really frustrating.  I went with Creator over NERO, because Creator would recognize the mov files.  I didn't expect to have any issues with the Kodak.  It was why I went with the Kodak.

Any suggestions?

My computer is running Windows XP -  Laptop HP Pavilion Entertainment Notebook PC DV1000  I do not know its other particulars.

Which program to you have?  Easy Media Creator 9, or Creator 2009?

I have Creato 2009.  I should also say that the clips play fine in Quicktime - so files seem to be non-corrupted.

Sorry I cannot help but I will add that I have the exact same issue! I have Creator2009, run it on Vista, and all my clips have - no sound. And they play with sound when I run them on Quicktime.
The clips are in .mov format.

Very frustrating.

1. Quickest solution: change the .mov extension to .mp4.

2. If that doesn't work, consider "converting" those videos using a free program like Super.

I apologize for the late reply, I was out of town.  Your solution of changing the extension was perfect!!!!  It worked like a charm & was simple & easy.  I've never had great luck with conversion programs, so I was very relieved to find that the .mp4 ext worked so well.  Thank you very much for your help.  smile.gif  It saved a lot of aggravation on my part and I'm much happier with both the Roxio & my camera!!!

This surprising suggestion also helped me. After several attempts without a helpful answer from Roxio 'helpdesk' finally a way out. Thank you for the tip.
