I am using Easy Media Roxio Creator 10  using My DVD and unable to capture vhs tape video going thru my digital canon camcorder.  I see the video streaming in the Roxio viewer but the capture button does not highight.  I am able to capture video using same eqipment and roxio program using dazzle in stead of canon camcorder.  I can capture using my camcorder in a pinnacle program.

firewire

I hooked up vhs player to camcorder, firewire from camcorder to computer and run Pinnacle Studio progran and can capture. If I try same using Roxio unable to capture. Capture button does not highlight but see video streaming in Roxio viewer. Using same set up but replace camcorder with dazzle and can capture using Roxio program. If I try captureing using camcorder alone thru digital tape in camcorder able to capture using Roxio.

The camcorder that I am using does pass thru using Pinnicle program.  Plus in Roxio it passes thru because I see it in the viewer in mydvd when I ask it to capture.  Again the capture button does not highlight.  Plus I used this camcorder to capture on an old program thatwas called my DVD by sonic.

I have no problem using my Sony DV camcorder to capture analog video in the pass-thru mode. What is the model number of your Sony camcorder? Do you have a blank tape in the Sony while doing the capture?

Sony DCR-PC5
Again my Sony or Canon capture thru Pinnicle which is a program like Roxio.  I even started by going into Pinnicle and see that I can capture in it.  I then close Pinnicle and open Roxio and unable to capture.  I get into Roxio media export and I can see my video in the viewer but unale to click on the unhightlighted capture button.  If I remove my camcoeder and put in dazzle which is a captureing device I am able to capture in roxio.  I am sorry to keep on repeating this.  Thanks for any help
