Hello everyone I hope someone can help.

Here is what I'm trying to do.  I work for my local GameStop store and when I had version 7 I created DvDs for the store with the latest video game trailers to show to customers.  I have upgraded to version 8 and now I can't get it to work.  I usually go to a couple of websites and download the trailers in WMV format.  I then open up the DvD creator and click on add a movie file.  First problem is that if I hold down CTRL and choose several movies it won't add them all at once I have to choose them 1 at a time, but that can wait.  After picking the movies 1 at a time I can preview the disk and it looks fine, but when I try to burn the DvD I get an error message about encoding 80040227.  I've updated to the latest software version, firmware and even reinstalled my DvD burner.  No luck.  I can create slideshow DvD's on this PC just fine.  After the encoding error if I attempt to create another DvD project with the videos videowave 8 crashes the roxio application, and sometimes when I'm adding the videos 1 at a time videowave 8 crashes the application at random times.  What else can I check.

thanks in advance.

PC Specs:

WindowsXP Pro
AMD 3200+
2Gigs of RAM
Lite-On LDW-851S Burner
80 Gig SATA drive
120 Gig IDE Drive

You could try burning to an image file (ISO) first, then to a DVD with Disc Copier.  This usually works better than burning directly to a disc.
