I am so frustrated right now, I have used the Roxio Drag to Disc version perfectly fine but ever since I upgraded to this version I can't get anything to work.

I am trying to burn a PDF file to a CDR or DVDR... I've tried both multiple times and both show burn marks on the discs after burning.  The CDR will not show any information after burning and it won't allow me to finalize the disc.  The DVDR will only show up on my computer and it also won't let me finalize the disc.  I've also burned discs TAO Open/Closed & DAO Closed not sure what it means.

Both CDR and DVDR will show data on the cd when opening it from "my comptuer" but nothing appears when opening it from either my computer or another computer.

What is wrong here?

thanks

When you burn the disc make sure you go to Options and put a check mark in the box where is says "Read Only Disc".
This is using Creator Classic to burn the disc.

Avoid using Drag to Disc (packet writing) - not a reliable way to store data. As Terry point out, use Creator Classic.

Thanks for the help, but I am using Roxio Creator 2010.  I don't really see any of the things you guys are talking about in any of the icons/options/tools that you are talking about.

Roxio Cretor 2010-  Objective is to burn pdf files on to a cd to be viewed by anyone that has the cd...

- Open Roxio Creator 2010
- Click on Data Copy
- Add my files (files show up on the screen indicating they are added successfully)
- CD Burning Destination is TSSTcorp DVDRW DL(D:)
Is the destination above the reason why I can't burn a CDR?
-  When all is said and done I click on the large green arrow button and it burns the disc.
-  Only when I burn a DVDR can I open the disc on my computer only.  The CDR burn won't open up at all but it shows 702mb of data when I try to open it in "my computer"

thanks

1. I realize that and sorry I messaged the guy about it.
2. I did mention that I did use it before but I wasn't clear enough.
3. I don't have creator classic?  But I googled it and I can download it from a 3rd party site which I would rather not do.

Should I purchase Creator Classic?  All I want/need to do is burn PDF Files to a CDR disc.  On the Roxio website Roxio Creator 2010 seems to be my only option that best suits my needs.

You cannot purchase "Creator Classic" from anywhere - it is part of Roxio Creator 2010. If your really have that program then you already have Creator Classic. I am not on a computer that has C2010 installed but look for something call "Burn Data Disc - Advanced" or something similar.

As Walt mentioned, Creator Classic is part of Creator 2009 and not something that requires a purchase. Follow this :

1. Launch Roxio Creator 2010
2. Click on Data tab on the left
3. Click on Burn Data Disc - Advanced (this will launch Roxio Creator Classic as a separate app)
4. Follow rest of the process i.e. adding desired file/folder (s) and burning to a CD or DVD as desired.

1. Did this
2. Did this
3. For some reason I can't click on "Burn disc Data-Advance", "create labels", "create labels advanced", "copy and convert video", "backup and restore"... they all have a half circle black arrow to the left of these items.

thanks

It is likely the app is not installed. Try going to All Programs --> Roxio 2010 --> Applications and see if Creator Classic is displayed.

To clear things up, Creator Classic is Burn Data Disc - Advanced, not Burn Data Disc.

When you do what you said you should be able to go to Options and choose either TAO or DAO closed.
This should finalize the cd and make it readable anywhere.

Also if you use a DVD the second section there lets you either close it or leave it open.

It sounds like you have a crippled OEM version of the software. That's why cd asked where you got it.

I doubt there is a OEM of C2010. But I could be wrong.

I purchased the Downloadable Roxio Creator 2010 yesterday online with the option to store my purchase online.

When I do the following

- "Start" --> "All programs"
- "Roxio 2010" --->"Applications"
- then I click on "creator classic"
- NOTHING Happens...

Maybe I should erase remove all Roxio 2010 programs and re download everything?

thanks for all your help on this message board usally this stuff isn't an issue but its probably something simple that I'm just not doing.

Thanks for all your help on this board... I uninstalled and reinstalled everything to no avail.  I am requesting to customer service for a refund.  I don't have the time to keep messing with this program.
