I created my first BluRay Project with the 2010 Pro Version and it successfully burned the disc. At least, there have been no errors on screen and it eject it automatically. However, Windows tells me the disc is corrupt. And, if I put it into a PS3 or regular BluRay Player by Sony it says: "cannot play disc". Does anyone know what that means?

Did something go wrong? Or, is Roxio putting a Regional Code on the disc instead of "ALL Regions" ??? That would be really bad, as the BluRays I need to make have to be "Region free".

I hope someone know what is going on here.

Thanks
Guido

Regions do not come into play with the software.  Can you play the DVD on your computer?  Did you burn the disc directly or did you make an image file first and then copy the image file to the disc (preferred method).

Get some RE discs to pay with.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

I suspect the answer is in all the details you left out… Everything between ’I created…’ and ’eject’!!!

I trust you have BD RE to test with?

Hi, I am using BD-R and not RE. That is what I have to work with right now. It transcoded the video, burned the BD-R and automatically ejected the disc once it was done. There was no error message on the creator 2010, no splash screen that something went wrong. When I look at the BD-R it was written on, I can visually see that. But either the BD-Burner, nor regular BD Players can see the disk.

Should I just assume that something went wrong during the burn process and try another disc? What do you think?

I check the manual from the BluRay Player, Sony BDP-S350 and they explain that if a BD-R doesn't play it might not have been authored right or finalized. I check all settings in Creator 2010 and don't see a checkbox to mark "finalize after burning" like I see with other authoring software. Is that a concern? Or is the software "finalizing" it automatically anyway?

I should get some RE Discs I assume. I burned the disc directly and didn't make an image first. I will try that and thanks for clearing up the region code situation. Can I assume that every BD Player can play its Region (A, B, C) or ALL REGION by default?

1. What brand of BD-R media are you using? TDK or Verbatim would be preferred.
2. Most players should be able to read region free disc while not all players will be able to play a disc with all the regions. Check this out to get a better understanding of regions.

As suggested by Jim, BDRE would be a way to go to avoid coasters.

Yes, I am creating a ISO as we are speaking. The movie is 450 GB, so it will take a while to transcode. Then I will burn the ISO onto a DVD-RE (just ran out to get one...). I let you guys know what the outcome is...

I appreciate all the inputs.

It would be best if you do nothing else while encoding to an image file; including posting on this thread.  Actually disconnecting from the Internet and shutting down all all other programs including your anti-virus, anti-malware, mail, etc.   Encoding uses a lot of CPU time and encoding should not compete with other CPU demands.

Update: I was able to create an image and burn it onto BD-RE with success. That is the good news. Your post makes me think, as the quality is very bad. It jitters, just like it would have the wrong frame rate. Interesting enough seems to me that it used 25p while the actual project was done on 1080/50p. But I cannot find any information what frame rate it uses. I am used to be able and choose and change the frame rate from Adobe Encore, but that has issues since Apple issued the new quicktime and crashes during transcoding. This was the reason why I chose this software.

I hope I can find a why to get the quality up to speed....

While its transcoding, nothing else runs on the computer, this system doesn't even have mail software, just AVID MC, Adobe CS4, Roxio, iTunes and Quicktime Pro.

Input of the video: Quicktime Reference file

PC Information:
QuadCore Nehalen i7 CPU
12 GB

25 frame per minute is plenty…

You need to try it after going to Tool – Options – Render and set it to Software.

Those RE are wonderful!
