Cannot burn a CD or DVD

Dell 8400 XP Pro SP3 Record Now Music Lab 10

When I try to burn a DVD , "Disc Information" reports a blank DVD but as soon as I press "Burn" the blank is ejected.

The very same thing happens when trying to burn a CD: good blank CDR found, ejected as soon as burning tries to start.

It used to work fine just a little while ago.  No response yet to my ticket at Roxio.  Tried the suggestions on the knowledge base page without success.

Post those and any other things you have tried so we aren't wasting time.

What type of file (file extension) are you trying to burn to the CD-R and DVD what (-R + R - RW + RW) ?

Open Device Manager, in XP, right click My Computer, click properties, click the hardware tab, click Device Manager.

Post the Drives ID's like the pic shows in the link below post # 3...
