Hello everyone,
I have a macbook 2.2 with 10.5.8 and toast 9.07.
I recorded two disk images and it just stop working. When I try to record the disk image it says - "Couldn't complete the last command because there was not enough memory. Result Code= -108

I don't think I am doing anything different. It just stopped working. I have 2 gigs of ram and plenty of hard disk space. I don't know what happened?

Thank you for any help.

Marco

That error message typically appears when you are trying to make a video DVD from a source that has had something removed from the original VIDEO_TS folder. For example, if you ripped a DVD but didn't choose a full disc extraction. My sense is something is missing from your source VIDEO_TS folder. A workaround could be to select DVD with the top button of the Toast Media Browser to drag the title(s) from the VIDEO_TS folder to the Video window with DVD video selected as the format. Then have Toast create its own menu and VIDEO_TS folder when you save as disc image.

Well, I figured it out.

The problem I was having, is that only the DVD's from this one series was not working. If I make a disk image from any other source it was fine. But when I make a disk image from this series of DVD's it gives me the result code -108 out of memory stuff.

I know I should be able to make a disk image with these DVD's because I have done it before several years ago on a older mac laptop running 10.3. with toast 5

I tried it on the two laptops I have which have 10.5 and neither worked. I also tried installing Toast 5 because that is what I used in the past to make disk images out of these DVD's and that didn't work either.  I suspected that it was either Toast 9 or mac 10.5 that was the problem. Well, I had one other mac computer left. A desktop with 10.4 on it and toast 9. Yipee! It worked. For whatever reason Toast 9 will not make a disk image with these DVD's with Mac 10.5

If anyone knows why I would really appreciate it.

Ps. I would now like to uninstall Toast 5 but there was not a uninstall option. Can I just drag the folder to the trash?

Yes, just drag the application to the trash to uninstall it.

If you hadn't found a solution you could have used the Toast Media Browser to access the videos on the DVD and drag them to the Video window with DVD video selected as the format. After Toast extracts the video(s) you set up the menu the way you want and create a new disc image.
