I see that this was discussed 3 years ago, but the resolution was unsatisfactory. Basically, I upgraded to Creator 2010 on 9/23/09 and now whenever I try to run Windows Media Player in XP, I get an attempt to install CinePLayer. That fails because CP.MSI can not be found on my computer. It takes three cancels before it will stop trying. This is a royal pain. I would install CinePlayer if I could. It keeps looking for: C:\DOCUME~1\Carl\LOCALS~1\Temp\WZSE0.TMP\CINEPLAYER_53\ , but that path (WZSE0.TMP) does not exist. How can I either install this product without the MSI file, download an MSI file, or make it quit trying to install?

It seems you have a download version of the product. You could extract the contents of the installer package using Winzip or winrar or 7zip to a folder. When prompted by the Windows installer, point it to the location of the file in the extracted folder.

Well, I fixed it by completely uninstalling and re-installing it. I found a knowledge base article 000042GN that spells out the procedure.
