In Toast's video DVD mode, I was importing the VTS_01_1 file from a VIDEO_TS folder generated by iDVD. I want to convert the PCM audio to AC3. I choose to have no menu, and the default video/audio settings, When I use the "Save as Disk Image" to create the new DVD image, it still has PCM audio, any idea what went wrong?

To do this you need to let Toast reauthor your video DVD. The process is as follows:
1. Either insert the DVD burned by iDVD or place the VIDEO_TS folder created by iDVD on the desktop.
2. Choose DVD video in the Toast Video window (do NOT choose DVD video from VIDEO_TS).
3. Click the Media button to enter the Media Browser.
4. Press the top button in the Media Browser and choose DVD. Your DVD will appear below.
5. Use the lower button to go down a level so the Title(s) on your DVD appear in the lower window.
6. Drag the Titles from the lower window to the Toast Video window. This extracts the MPEGs from the VIDEO_TS and writes them to the Roxio Converted Items folder.
7. You now can proceed to prepare and burn your new video DVD. If Toast is set to AC-3 encoding that will take place.

I followed your instructions, Toast went through copying of the DVD title and the multiplexing, but the saved DVD disk image still contains the PCM audio, not AC3.

I'm sorry but I was wrong about this. I though Toast would encode the AC-3 audio but apparently that only is done if the video is also being encoded by Toast. Therefore, you would need to set Re-encoding in the Custom Encoding window to Always.
