Before MacOS update to 10.6.2 when burning from an ISO image, mounting the image was an option. After the update ISO images mount as soon as they are selected. Clicking on the Unmount button does unmount the image, but also unselects it.

For some ISO images this creates a problem. The only work around I have found is to use Disk Utility to burn (without having to mount the image). This works, but I really prefer to do my burning in Toast.

Update: problem solved:

When "Use Fit-to-DVD video compression" is checked, the ISO image mounts when selected. When that option is not checked the ISO image can be selected and burned without mounting the image. It had nothing to do with the MacOS update.

I thought Toast always mounted the disc image files in the Copy window even before the latest OS update.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!
