I recently installed Creator 2010 (and SP1) and for reasons I don't understand, at startup, C2010 opens a Windows Explorer window opened to cProgram Files\Roxio. I traced this to CPMonitor.exe which is started during boot. Any thoughte re how to stop this from happening? I suspect I can live without CPMonitor loading on startup - anyone know what it does?

Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob -

CPMonitor is a function of Cineplayer to detect DVDs when inserted.

You can turn it off by going to:

  1. Start -> then type "msconfig" in the search window
  2. Click the Startup tab
  3. Uncheck "CPMonitor"
  4. Click Apply.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Reboot.

Let me know if this helps.

Jon

According to Mr. Google, it monitors your DVD drive for the insertion of a movie DVD upon which it starts Cine Player. I vote to get rid of it!

Thanks. Based on your comment, I don't need CPMonitor running in the background so I'll just eliminate it as a startup item as you suggest.
