I have a ticket open in Tech Support, but I thought I'd put this in the forum as I did not find a similar topic.

After I switched to Snow Leopard (clean install, wiped the hard drive, reinstalled software, etc.) I tried to install Toast. I was able to successfully get through the install process up until the point where the install goes from registration to the actual application screen. At that point the application hangs and I have to force quit (application is listed as "not responding" and is highlighted in red)

I have done the things the tech support group asked...basically a manual uninstall...but it does not work. Among other steps, they asked me to manually uninstall the following:
com.BelightSoft.DiscCover2.plist
com.BelightSoft.GetBackup2.plist
com.boinx.fotomagico.plist
com.elgato.VideoPlayer.plist
com.lightcrafts.app
com.lightcrafts.jai.plist
com.lightcrafts.metadata2.plist
com.lightcrafts.templates.plist
com.lightcrafts.ui.plist
com.lightcrafts.utils.plist
com.lqgraphics.motionpictures.plist
com.CDSpinDoctor6.plist
com.roxio.Mac2Tivo.plist
com.roxio.Deepseasoftware.CDSpindoctor.plist
com.roxio.Popcorn.plist
com.roxio.Streamer.plist
com.roxio.Toast.plist(will be in BOTH locations)
com.smartsound.sonicfire5.plist(will be in BOTH locations)
com.tivo.desktop.plist(will be in BOTH locations)
Popcorn Preferences
Roxio Toast Prefs

Of these, I could only find the following installed:
com.elgato.VideoPlayer.plist
com.tivo.desktop.plist(will be in BOTH locations)
Roxio Toast Prefs

I deleted those and then did the reinstall per the instructions (Lots of steps, which I won't list unless someone really wants them reiterated...let me know)

The fact that many of the plist files they asked me to delete are missing, makes me think that something is going wrong as I install and that most of the application is not actually being successfully installed at all. I am no expert on this, but tech support seems to think all of those items SHOULD be installed...and of course they are not.

Well...any help would be much appreciated and may help other Snow Leopard users.
Thanks!
Helen

The preferences list they gave you includes preferences for every application in the Toast 10 Pro bundle plus some that install when using certain features in Toast. You haven't been able to get past Toast launching so the only preferences you likely could find are the Roxio Toast Prefs and the com.roxio.plist files. Maybe the plist didn't get written because Toast never fully launched.

Are you installing Toast 10.0.4 downloaded from Roxio's software updates page or an earlier version of Toast 10? If it isn't 10.0.4 go to the software updates page and download that version to install in place of the older one. The download includes everything in the non-Pro version of the Toast 10 bundle.

Also, disconnect any external optical drives or video gear connected to your Mac. External hard drives are fine. There are rare times when an external device will keep Toast from launching the first time.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!
