Okay.....please excuse my ignorance as a TOAST newbie. I know that Toast 10 cannot convert to DIVX, so I would like to convert to a simple AVI file to play on my WD Mini, DIVX player, and XBox 360. But when I look at my output choices, it shows multiple devices, not file types. How can I choose a simple AVI file? I read the manual, but it just wasn't clear.

Thanks for your help!

Converting to MPEG 4 will be the most compatible. DivX is a form of MPEG 4. If your devices support H.264 playback then choose that, but I suspect your DivX player doesn't support it.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Thank you, tsantee. Yes, unfortunately it doesn't support H.264, and the Toast MPEG 4 file wouldn't play on my WD Mini, so I'm afraid Toast 10 has turned into a very pricey paperweight for me (except for burning). Looks like it's back to the Windows machine for converting using DVD Fab, unless I want to downgrade my Toast.

Appreciate your quick reply!

I too wonder why Toast doesn't have the ability to export to AVI or DivX since those are very common video formats.

Toast 8 and 9 had DivX conversion but it was removed from Toast 10. Don't know why. AVI is a container not a format just as QuickTime is a container and not a format.
