As far as support, a number of very helpful users are on this forum regularly and help other users with software going back almost 6 years. And, it's 100% free!

Creator 2009 is NOT compatible with Windows 7, and is not claimed to be. Have a look at the compatibility list HERE.
If you insist on changing your Operating System and the old software isn't compatible, you have to be prepared to buy new software to go with it. This is the way of life, and nothing has changed.

Thanks, Frank. I tried your suggestion and it seems to work ... not sure how well, though. Point is, why didn't Roxio make this as a suggestion early on? I continue to believe they are not a very good organization.

Glad you got it to work will.. But please take into consideration Brendon and the beerman's suggestions as well. Some have gotten it to work by hook or crook but they are few. Personally I don't run it with my Win 7 OS, so I can't personally say if it worked for me or not.
As far as Roxio not making the suggestion I did--They just don't want users to be disappointed when it works for a while and then goes south on you. Best to stick with what Roxio advises as to what IS and IS NOT compatible. However, if you are satisfied with how it's working, keep on truckin' man

... and that is key: install the SP4 (Creator2009SP4) and some other patch (pxengine3_00_58a) from the download support page; then it would run just fine on both, Windows 7 x86 and Windows 7 x64!
You can also opt to install the Windows 7 XP-mode (Virtual machine with Windows XP, allowing applications to be installed and run in an XP environment; but started and controllable directly through Windows 7 -- see Microsoft Windows 7 web site for details and prerequisites.
Hope this helps.

But you need one of the super-duper new computers which will support Windows 7's "virtualization mode" to run the VM in Windows 7, Jurgen. [mine doesn't]
Who can afford that?

Who can afford that?
nope, all AMD CPUs (e.g., Opteron, Turion, etc.) have the virtualization feature since 2006;
if you have an AMD, check your BIOS, and you will find an option to turn it on!
so the answer: almost everybody!

Thanks Dave, although I do understand the compatablility issues, I still think they should offer a patch for a product this current. I am willing to upgrade to 2010 but I am concerned that the fact I can't uninstall it that I will just create more of a mess by trying to lay the upgrade over it. I can't run the install from the CD and after copying all the files from the CD to the hard drive the install still fails. Since Win7 is not supported that really does not surprise me.
Now I admint this is the first time I ever did the upgrade. I have always in the past laid down a clean new install as well. So I do realize this is not all Roxio's making, but I do belive you can judge the qualtiy of the product by the actions of the company.
So do you think the upgrade will work?

If you have enough disk space, do you know how to create a second partiton for a clean install of windows 7? Of course once you get the second OS installed and runnig you would then have to reinstall all your programs. Be sure you have all the program disks and backup your data before you try this process.

The error I get is "Setup incountered an error during installation, Error code 047C" And yes I was removing the program. I have purchased and downloaded the 2010 verson and tried to install and got the same message but with error code 000D. Any idea what each of these error mean?
And just so you know Malatekid, I have the same desktop you do. Dell XPS 410

I believe you hit it right on the head. I remember so well the corrupt profile problems with NT, but that has for the most part been resolved with XP. As soon as I created a new user account eveything starting working under that new account. 2009 was actually responding and now I am upgrading to 2010 just to eliminate the potential of intermittent problems.
Now to delete and recreate that old profile adn work to restore eveything you have in your profile.
Thanks Big Dave!
