My McAfee program just did a complete scan of my computer.

At completion of the scan I got the following message.

Potentially Unwanted Program.

The detection name was: Generic PUP.xlbv
Items were:
File name: C: Program Files\Roxio Media
Experience\DMXLauncher.exe
Processs:C::\Program Files\Roxio\Media
Experience\DMXLauncher.exe

Can anyone tell me what this is. I have left my computer on and have not deleted this program yet. I don't know if I should as it may be an integral part of my Roxio EMC 9. Help.

It's part of the Roxio program, and you don't want to delete it. Tell McAfee to ignore it.

Thank You. I will not remove. I don't know why McAfee identified it this time. The program has been on my machine for almost a year. I have had many scans but it has never identified this program before.

Just got the same problem and I've had Roxio EC 9 for over a year. Must be a McAfee update that is causing the detection. I was just worried that it was a virus. Thanks!

McAfee is one of the better AVs [imho] but I have seen it spring false positives in the past. Not as many as AVG though.

I blame it all on Global Warming / Global Cooling / Global Staying the Same [pick one]
