I am running Windows XP, and I am not able to install Roxio Creator 2010, because it says, " Roxio Creator 2010 setup was interupted. Your system has not been modified, To install this program at a later time, please run the installation again."
I bought the C.D., so it is not a download problem.
I believe I bought an older version of Roxio 8 years ago and had no problems with the install, but have no idea where that CD is now.
any help will be appreciated!
thanks,
Greg

Do you have your antivirus software disabled? If not, do so.

One suggestion is that you should make sure that your XP is "Updated" with the latest "SP's" (Service Packs) Then try and re-install C2010 again and after that update it with C2010 SP1 also. I haven't run Xp in quite some time now but having it updated to the latest SP's would probably help. That and you haven't mentioned anythng regarding your computer. Any specs, especiallly hardware would help solving your problem.

I don't have the service pack 3 installed, because when I first installed it, it truly messed up my whole computer, so I had uninstall it and totally deny EVER updating my system ever again. So, just in case, I tried again for this Roxio software to see if maybe it may work now and it stopped midway, with some error message from Microsoft. Nice and expected. XP has always been a stable system for me and I love it. I will try to find the old CD of Roxio and reinstall it, because I know it worked beautifully. When I buy a new computer with another Microsoft OS that seems to actually work and is stable as XP, then I will try again Roxio 2010. Thanks for the quick replies! It makes sense that this probably the problem.

If XP's SP3 "truly messed up my whole computer" your computer was already badly messed up!
What you really need to do is format your HDD or just get a new one and start from scratch.
I have installed 2010 on XP's, Vista and Win7 and have yet to ever see any install issue.
Likewise XP's SP3 was loaded on 3 PCs with no problem.
I would go the new HDD idea, and use the old one as a secondary.

Ok thanks! I already have 3 HD on my computer and actually bought XP again even when Vista was on the shelves and completely bought a 3 new HDs for my computer. I may try reformatting it and starting all over. They run fast, but I do have lots of room for backup. Thanks for the suggestion. That sounds the easiest for now!

Should work! I’ll keep my fingers crossed
Just do the OS, update to SP3, then Roxio. Keep it simple.
Then you can try the hard stuff.
