just bought 'easy VHS to DVD' and installed without issue. When try to convert first VHS do not recieve errors but the 'capture preview' screen/window is blank. Using an S1 connection as opossed to the 'red, white, yellow' RCA cables. Can the lack of preview and then DVD capture be due to using a dual DVD/VHS player?

There is an RCA as well as an S-Video connection. What on earth is this S1 you refer to???
Assuming you meant S-Video, did you set the Input (above the preview window) to S-Video???
Also S-Video provides NO Audio! You must use the Red/White RCA for Audio.

My question was not worded properly:
Yes - Meant S-Video when stated S1
Yes - set the input to recognize the S Video
Yes - also utilizing the Red/White RCA cables
The preview window is blank and if capturing - even with the blank window - no audio or video is transfered.
Thanks

Points to software that was not installed properly…
Read through cdanteek's pinned post at the top of this page and compare his screen caps with your system.
Also it would be good to list your computer specs, like I have in my signature.
And to be sure, confirm you are not using a PAL VHS system.
