I copied a VHS tape to a DVD-R media (using easy Roxio VHS to DVD) and my DVD player accepts DVD-R media. However, I get a message on the player 'error' and a message on the TV 'Incorrect Disc'. Also, while recording the VHS, I saw video on the capture screen but heard no sound. I see video and hear sound if playing in my computers' optical disc. My W/XP computer system appears to meet all requirements and both the DVD player and optical drive are set to Region 1.

S-Video provides NO Audio! You must use the Red/White RCA for Audio.
All discs burned are Region Free, they can be used anywhere in the world.
It mostly sounds as though your Player does not like the media you are feeding it. Verbatim & Taiyo Yuden are the 2 top brands.
I would also recommend you do not use the Plug & Burn…

I had all three RCA cables hooked to the rear of my VCR and used Plug & Burn. I got another disc from my spindle and ran the VHS tape again through the 'easy' software using Plug & Burn. This time the DVD recognized the disc and I played the cartoon all the way through. Maybe just a faulty disc. And I don't care if I can't hear the sound while copying to the DVD as it works fine on the player now. Thank you for your prompt response. Ron
