I bought this program in May. I have had problems with it from the first day. I have submitted questions via email through customer service and to date I have had no response. I paid $60 for this program and have not been able to use it. It now sells for $29 at Costco or you can get it with Creator 2010.
I have no problem installing it or accessing it.
When I capture - I can see the movie as it captures. I click Finish and I do get the progress indicators reaching 100 percent. I click ok as instructed. Out of 10 tapes I supposedly captured only 1 worked. All others I get this response when I insert the disc into my DVD player - "This type of disc cannot be played. Please insert a different disc." When I insert the disc to play in my pc - I keep getting the please insert disc - It seems that neither the DVD player and/or my pc recognize the DVD once it's burned.
The one that did work was able to be played in the DVD player. It is the same type of disc, the 10 discs I used were all the same, came from the same box. I have also used the same disc's to create slideshows using the Roxio Creator and they all play fine on my dvd player.
I have Windows XP, and Roxio Creator for Dell.
Please help, I am losing my patience.
vhs to dvd capturing and playing the dvd's

You should have not waited this long to visit the discussion groups!!! But understand we are jus t fellow users like yourself.
You really need some RW discs for learning/testing! Also only buy quality media. If it isn’t Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden it isn’t worth bringing home.
Check in Help – About to see if your Version Number includes SP2?
Forget about Plug & Burn, too high risk. We will visit this later...
With your RW media, open Make DVD (MyDVD) and accept the defaults. Slap 2 or 3 pictures from your Windows Sample Pictures folder using the Add Movie/Pictures button and burn it! What happens?

Good!
Now do a short test using Capture and note the location of the file.
Then open MyDVD and add that file and burn it.
Next step would be open the Edit (VideoWave), add the captured file and perhaps Split it Timeline then switch to Storyline and insert a few still pictures between the Split.
SAVE (dmsm file), exit, open MyDVD and add that dmsm file and burn it.
This is an incremental testing. We are adding things and increasing complexity in increments… Tests the programs and nudges you along the learning curve
Let us know how that goes.
