mad.gif Hello,
Today I have downloaded DVDit Pro HD upgrade, and when I want to install it (double click) in my computer (windows), I have a message:

"Windows cannot open this file:
File: DVDitProHDv.4_
To open this file, Windows needs to know what program created it......
What do you want to do?
-Use the web service to find the appropriate program
-Select the program from a list"

I sent a message to Support home and I am waiting.

I would like to know If someone have had the same problem and how did he resolve it.

In advance, Thank you.

Chabi

What Operating System do you have? The website ad for this product indicates XP or Vista as the required OS.

You quoted the file name as "DVDitProHDv.4_". Is there a last part to the name, like exe or zip?

I don't have access to my DVDit Pro HD file right now but it is maybe a comprressed file that you need to extract. If it is so, then you need a software or utility to extract the file (utility such as Winrar or Winzip).

rolleyes.gif It's okay now. The customer service helped me. I think it's because I used Firefox to download my file and I had a strange file "Unknown file". With "internet explorer" I can download the good file, but I must wait 3 hours to download 125MB. I will try at home, tonight again.

All of you, thank you for your help. I'll let you know about my download, tomorrow.

Good to know you heard from customer support. The download file size of 125 MB seems to be a small size for a full download of a huge program like Dvdit Pro.

The update online is a patch which is 1.25MB.

Can you please post the link that you are using?

laugh.gif Finally, at home,I have downloaded my upgrade (from Internet explorer, and not Mozilla Firefox???) in 3 or 4 minutes.

I have just one question:
Should I update my older version now without finishing my current projects, or wait ?

I think it would be wise to finish the project first.
