I have Roxio Creator 2010 and separately purchased the Roxio Video Capture USB cable so as to capture VCR video into Creator 2010 to edit and then transfer to DVD.  I've installed the driver for the Video Capture Device.  I saw your earlier instruction, but am getting the Status of "No Signal" in Roxio Media Import and cannot figure out why.

I have a composite video input connection.  I have composite video cables connected to the video capture device and then to the Video In terminals on my VCR.  The VCR is on and has a video in, but despite trying all kinds of different connections it always shows a status of "No Signal".

The video capture device seems to be recognized within the Media Import application (It shows the video device as USB 2861 Device, and that the input is Composite Video), but I can't figure out how to do whatever is necessary to get around this "No Signal" status.

Do not plug the Roxio USB device into a HUB.  Also sometimes the USB on the front can be under powered so try using USB on the back of the computer. Not convenient, but usually works.  If all else fails, uninstall/reinstall the drivers.

The cables need to be connected to the VIDEO OUT terminals of your VCR.  Also, you probably want to tape or rubberband the connecters to the USB device just to ease the strain on the connection.

Maybe the above was a typo, you connect to the VCR OUT jacks
