When trying to create a DVD, videoWave 12 hangs and eventually throws a Windows error report screen and closes. usually happens when trying to change a button style or background. i've tried importing the movie first and also changing the styles first. same thing. I completely uninstalled roxio creater 2010SE and reinstalled it. same problems. can't find anything in tutorials or users guide (which is really the useless guide).

Hi MRyan -
1) Did you install the Creator content disc?
2) Can you give us a hint of what the Windows error report says?
3) Also include your system specs: RAM, CPU speed, Video Card, etc.
Thanks,
Jon

I assume you are actually using myDVD to create menus, etc since Videowave is used for assembling the video, editing, adding transitione, audio...
Perhaps your video adaptor cannot handle the video. You can try changing the rendering mode from hardware to software -under File/Tools/Options.
It might have helped if you had listed the error message.

I installed all the discs. I don't get a windows error report. TOshiba satellite 2454-s305, 2.3ghz pentium 4, 1 gb ram, toshiba geforce 4 video card, 120 gb hdd
i tried using software mode and it did the same thing. i don't get an error window. the system just sits there like a rock. i'm beginning to think this software needs gobs of ram and a super-duper video card. of course things like that are listed in the sys req's. i can't see shelling out beaucoup bucks for a new pc just to run a $75 program.

Hi MRyan -
Here's some basic troubleshooting notes. Some of them will have nothing to do with your situation, and others you have already looked into:
http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/conte...S=set-locale=en
I think the video card part of the instructions may be first place you may want to focus on.
Also, did you install both discs on your C:\ drive? You may also want to make sure that the folders your are trying to access
a) can be accessed by you (sharing on, no locked folders, etc)
that you are running the application as the administrator
c) you installed the application as the administrator.
I'm going with this line of thinking as it maybe that VideoWave can't see the files, and rather than giving you an appropriate error message asking to locate them, it decides to just kick the can.
