I have just purchased Easy DVD Copy & Convert 4 - and I'm confused.

My 8mm movies were copied to disk in MPEG-2 format. I made computer copies in .avi and other formats and now am attempting to burn DVD or CD copies.

I have made a (Roxio) compilation using computer copies as the Source, but have been unable burn copies.

The Burn screen Destination shows my CD burner greyed-out, and doesn't show my DVD burner at all. I can find no way of adding my DVD burner, or of activating the greyed-out CD drive.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm running XP Pro.

Try searching for "PxEngine 3.x" on the forum and try that.

Here 'tis.

PX Engine Installer.

Download, unzip, and run the EXE file.
P4 @3.20GHz on Albatron PX-865PE Pro II with 2GB DDR-SDRAM, FX5900XT video, Viewsonic monitors,
BENQ DW1640, in XP Pro and Windows 7

I blame it all on Global Warming / Global Cooling / Global Staying the Same  [pick one]

Brendon,

Many thanks - but after checking further I may have a computer fault. I'll get back to you as soon as possible - but at my rate of progress it won't be for a few days.

Brendon,

Have downloaded and run PxEngine 3.x, re-booted, and still have the problem.

The PX engine patch is a 'generic' fix for when the Sonic/Roxio burning software fails to see your burner, so I was happy to suggest that.

However I don't have Easy DVD Copy & Convert 4, so I'm stuck for giving you specific advice on that. Sorry Pat.

My thanks to all who offered suggestions.

I am still unable to burn CD's or DVD's using Roxio DVD Copy and Convert 4, but as I have more pressing matters this problem has been temporarily shelved.

My immediate concern was to make largely unedited copies for family members.  I (eventually!) did this by using Prism Video Converter to make .avi copies which I then, using Nero Express, burnt to CD's. Prism and Nero were free downloads.

Again, many thanks for the assistance.

Pat
