I have been using Roxio for about a week so I'm just learning.  I saved a project and exited the program.  When I tried to launch Roxio again, it gave me an application error related to Roxio_centralfx.exe.  So I cannot get in the program now at all.

I have tried several times, re-started my computer, etc. but nothing works.

Any advice out there??

Right click a empty spot  on the task bar and click Task Manager. On the Processes tab look for anything Roxio, highlight it by right clicking on it, then click End Process. You'll get a Task Manager Warning, click yes, then try to open the program. This is a temporary fix come back and let us know it it works for you?

I'm not the above poster, but I have the same problem and tried the temporary fix.

It didn't work.  Roxio Creator 2010 Special Edition still won't open, although I can open all the applications except CINEPLAYER.

Sounds like a .NET 3.5 SP1 issue. Check to see if you can download and install from Windows Update.

I also am having the same problem. It started after I updated Windows XP with security updates. Microsoft sent me here. I tried the tempory fix also with no result. BTW I can use the apllications seperatly including cineplayer unlike the previous post. Any help would be appreciated. I downloaded the SP 1 for net 3.5 and ended up with the problem!

I am also having the problem where Creator 2009 and Cineplayer will not run.  The problem is with the Microsoft Net Framework 3.5 SP1 (KB951847) update.  I uninstalled Net 3.5, then reinstalled it and everything worked.  When I ran the SP1 (KB951847) update it crashed again.  Not sure who will fix the problem but there is a conflict.

It's not the first time a MS 'critical' update has wrecked things

Most of us recall the shambles that occurred with Internet Explorer 7 (in the end it transpired that it was that 'critical' that MS released a patch to STOP it being installed automatically) wink.gif

gngster - do you have Creator 2009 (which is this forum) or do you have Creator 2010?

Creator 2009 is NOT certified for use with Windows 7

If you do have 2010, please post to the correct forum (you can't have the 'same problem' with a different OS and software version). Short term - have you updated your graphics drivers and applied the latest patches?
