Hello,

I am trying to create a football highlight film using Roxio Creator 2010.

I have 10 high school football games that I filmed. I would like to to select certain plays from each one of the films and then copy them onto a new DVD.

I will probably end up with 10 (20 sec) clips from each film that I want to save. However, I am not too clear on the specific steps I should take to complete this project.

Appreciate any input and advise.

Thanks

Check out the tutorial on video editing & others

1. Launch Creator 2010
2. Click on the Learning Centre Tab
3. Choose Video-Movies option on the right hand side of the pane
4. Click on Editing a movie with Videowave

Not very helpful.
I am able to trim begining and end of movies, but having tuff time trimming in between using Videowave.
So I trimmed out the plays I wanted through Video Copy and Covert, using that trim opition. However not able to svae or transfer to Videowave to finalize.
Any good thoughts?

Stick with Videowave, its designed for editing videos.

With video on timeline, move blue cursor to start of section you want to delete then click on Split icon. After video has been split, move cursor to end of section you want to delete and again click on Split icon. After split, select the section you want to delete and click on Delete icon (red X).

Last week, my wife wanted me to trim out 6 seconds from the middle of some camcorder video she shot ( some talk that might have offended someone being talked about), before burning. I already knew how to trim start and and end footage in VW, but not from the middle. I got one of the Roxio overseas tech support reps on the phone, and (after very long hold periods of time for him to consult his references) he told me to trim from the end everything from just before the beginning of the 1/10 second to be removed, "Add Video" to add in a second copy of the same AVI file, and then from panel 2 (Storyline) trim everything from the beginning to just past the 1/10 second my wife wanted removed. In fact, this happened to work! But as I have just learned from this forum thread, far too roundabout, and tedious!

I am extremely pleased to learn from Guru myguggi the way to delete from the middle of footage, using Timeline. It seems that phoning the Roxio-contracted reps overseas for technical support is not sufficiently rewarding to make it worthwhile. I do not know what language they actually speak. Certainly, they speak English infinitely better than I do any other language. I have now tried 3 or 4 times to gain "how-to" info via phoning the overseas reps. It is their lack of experience in actually using the C2010 product that is the problem.

I am very grateful for this forum. Easy to look past the look-down-the-nose attitude that shows in some postings from some gurus, to get the benefit of their hard-earned knowledge. (Please know that I am not referring to contributor myguggi.)

Sometime just a knowledge of Language helps…

“Trim” – you have a piece of paper and want to remove a portion in the center of the sheet.

Would you tell someone you are going to Trim a hole in it or would you tell them you are going to Cut a hole in it???

Now is that explanation sarcastic or is it an analogy designed to promote learning by building on familiar examples and experiences?

Most likely you asked the wrong question when you called so you got a the best answer possible under the circumstances that you created!!!

You could put the clip in twice in a row. Trim the end on the first clip and the beginning on the second clip. You can now remove from the center.
