1.   I went to the KB.roxio.com knowledge base trying to learn how to add voice-over narration to add to the sound recorded by my camcorder.  The only hit referred to “How do I add audio to a Photo Relay slide show.”

2.   In the VideoWave Help Center, I searched on “narration” and the only hit reads, in part,

“(if you have the optional Narration feature)”

If I have the Pro level C2010, how could I not have an “optional” feature?

3.  I downloaded the PDF document named “c2010_userguide_enu.pdf, and a search on “narration” yields exactly one hit on page 28, but this page says nothing about how to add voice-over.  A search through the PDF for “over” (as in “voice-over”) yields no pertinent hits.

By the way, because the terminology used in this PDF, despite the c2010 in its name, does not correspond with the actual product, it is of limited help.  For example, on p. 45, it reads “From Roxio Home, select Browse and Manage Media.”  This does not appear in my installed  C2010 Pro; the navigation does not appear to be available to me.  By the way, I ordered physical CD installation disks from Roxio; not a download.

4.  In this forum, I searched on “narration” and find “click on the Add Narration icon.”  I cannot see such an icon in VW.  I can be confident that the expert contributor knows exactly how to do this, but I have not found the navigation path to this option. I read that “Karri made a video on it” but cannot find a link to the video.

Right now, I think that I have performed due diligence in searching for how to add voice-over narration to my VideoWave production.  But I have not yet found the path.

I followed the "here it is" link, and found the reference.

In the specific post of Karri that I found previously, there was in fact, truly,  not the link you mention; only the text.

The reference that you gave me will enable me to learn how to do what I needed.  Thank you, sincerely.

l must presume that every experienced member of the forum knows that the PDF manual pinned to the forum, and downloadable from Roxio, was written for what must have been a much earlier EMC, and that the terminology and navigation do not match that of C2010.  This pretty much means that less-experienced persons cannot rely on that publication.

Lynn Lynn, Walt is referring to the additional links in my signature (check the end of this post) that can help users get started working in Creator/EMC; some are created by users and some are from Roxio, but generally they apply to most versions.

Unfortunately most of the Roxio manuals only cover the most basic operations. Such items a narration and many others I have never seen in any manual. Most of us have learned how to use those features by experimenting and reading these forums.

As Karri mentions the link has been in her signature for quite a long time and is in every one of her posts.

The important thing though is that you found it and hopefully will help you with your project.

You can of course also just record some narration and save to a wav or mp3 files and then add those files to one of the audio tracks.
