In the docs there is this for converting audio:
1 At the left side of the Toast window, click Convert and choose Audio
Files.
Where in the name of Fred Flintstone is this button? A screen shot in the docs would have been a great idea. Any help appreciated!
Where is the CONVERT button?

Near the top of the left-quarter of the Toast window there are five icons that serve as buttons. From left to right they are Data, Audio, Video, Copy and Convert. Click the right-most icon to enter the convert window.

Doh! Thanks...
Now if I can just get Toast 9 to stop failing when I try to convert; app suddenly quits every time. I have a new Mac Mini with Snow Leopard. Problems there? Time to get 10?

Have you updated to Toast 9.0.7? Which convert setting are you using? What kind of video are you trying to convert and which option is selected in Toast?

Yes, using 9.0.7. App quits trying to convert anything to anything to anything. FLAC>AIFF, etc. No big deal...think I'll use XLD anyway; I don't need to convert audio files that often. Thanks.

I've read other posts regarding problems with FLAC using the latest update. In that case use an earlier version of Toast 9. (You can have multiple versions on the Mac at the same time). The "fixes" to get Toast to work with Snow Leopard have created a lot of new problems. Many users who have Snow Leopard are resorting to using two versions. If you don't have Snow Leopard don't use Toast 9.0.7 at all.
What are the other conversion formats that aren't working?
