Sorry if this is an ignorant question. Bought Popcorn 2 yesterday, tried a simple DVD burn but couldn't get any audio on disc in two separate attempts (audio_ts folder is empty). First time I had instructed the software to copy every audio track under options; second time just the main track (English), worked neither time. Help is much appreciated ...... ! Cheers.

There never is anything in the AUDIO_TS folder. The audio is multiplexed with the video in the VOBs inside the VIDEO_TS folder. Are you saying the DVDs don't play any sound after they have been burned? IF so, what type and brand of media are you using? Does it play with sound on your Mac using DVD Player?
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Thanks for the prompt reply ...... and told you I was a newbie! Anyway the DVD doesn't play any sound in DVD player after the burn. Medium used is a Quentin 4x DVD R- (just an el cheapo brand). Does the disc brand really make this big of a difference ....... ?

Thanks again.

Media quality is a big issue. A lot of problems are a result of a drive's firmware not working properly with certain media. Also, some media have quality issues that result in severe disc errors that cause fits for players. I can't think of a reason other than media for why the audio isn't playing on your Mac (assuming you have the volume control on both DVD Player and the Mac's sound control turned up).

Does the audio play from your source VIDEO_TS folder? You can check this by choosing Open DVD Media from DVD Player's File menu and selecting the VIDEO_TS folder that you used as your source.

Thanks for the tip again. Volume was turned way up, and I can also confirm that the audio plays from the source. Anyway, will try this again with "better" / more reliable media and see what happens. Cheers.

As it turned out, the "unsuccessful" burn played find on a standard DVD player ....... ! But for some reason there's no sound when the disc is played via the DVD player from front row (I swear the volume is not muted) ........ how come?
