I've been experiencing something weird for the past several weeks. Programs longer than half-an-hour do not transfer in their entirety. For example, a 2.5 MB program gets to, say, 1.7 MB and hangs in "waiting" mode until I stop the download. At first I thought it was my Tivo going bad or something but I'm able to watch the programs on my TV just fine. A real head scratcher.
Anyone else experiencing this?
David
p.s. I'm running OSX 10.6 and have version 2.0a7 of Tivo Transfer

Tivo transfers hang after 30+ minutes programs longer than 30 minutes are not transferring in their entirety

I've been having the exact same problem with the exact same setup. I thought that it may be a Java compatibility issue so I set JSE to run in 32 bit mode. That didn't help. Any ideas?

The workaround I've found is to connect directly to the Tivo unit via ethernet and then download episodes using free iTivo software. I download in "decrypt" format and then do any additional conversions in Toast. No the best solution, but at least I'm able to download entire episodes now. Hope this helps...

My problem is sort of similar except that my TiVo transfers don't even get part way done. The transfer hangs in "waiting" mode right from the beginning at 0% transferred. I guess I will try this method with the ethernet but I don't have Toast, only Popcorn. It's weird though because it was working perfectly although I never tried transferring anything larger than 1.2GB. It's really frustrating how unreliable this process seems to be.

I have the same problem. I have been using the software to transfer several TiVo files of various size without problems . . . then poof. I start to transfer on 3/25/10 and active transfer goes to waiting and does nothing else. Restarting program and computer is not effective. I am using Toast 9 with Snow Leopard on Macbook Pro. I recently did a update patch on Safari between last use and present attempt. Any ideas?

I didn't really take any notice about any software updates, but the timing is about right for it. I wonder? I wish someone had the answer though. I have a lot of stuff I want to transfer and put on DVD and I bought the TiVo thinking I could do this. Clearly Toast is no more reliable than Popcorn, but why won't this software just work?? When you pay good money for something, you do expect it to work for more than a couple of weeks!
