I've been using EZCD 5 Platinum since its introduction and have been dissatisfied with the track splitting and the  filters (pop removal, etc) when recording vinyl to digital. I essentially use my computer for audio; specifically to record from vinyl to digital.

Is EZMC 8 a significant improvement in this area? I don't want to spend 50 bucks needlessly.
Thanks,
Dick

The enhancements in Sound Editor, which include better de-clicking/popping and de-noising are, in my mind, a significant improvement over ECDC 5. As for the track splitting, I can't say as I never used that option with either version.  I do almost all of my capturing and splitting using CDWAVE, which also has an automatic splitter which works well, but I still do it by hand.  It's just too easy.

But, I also have DART XP Pro for de-clicking and editing; DCART 5 for it's continuous noise reduction and filters, Goldwave for editing and applying fades.... so, while Sound Editor in EMC 8 has much better noise reduction capabilities, and I do use them some, there are other tools which still work better in some cases.  (I also used those tools with ECDC 5 too.)  Finding a single tool to do everything hasn't happened yet for me.  I like having a big toolbox to work with.  (He who dies with the most software...  is still dead.)

Hope that helps!
