Using the white and red output connections on the back of the unite hruogh the Roxio USB connection divice I get no audio feed on the audio side and nothing is recorded, when I change to the video side I can hear the music on the disk but cannot record it. Can I use the Roxiol Creator Basic v9 to capture audio from the Soney player and make a digital file like I did on the video from a 8MM vidio camra?

Put the mini disc in a DVD Drive and explore/open the disc, right click select all, click copy. Make a folder on your hard drive , open it right click paste. No need to capture from a burned DVD-Video disc.

So if I understand this right, you are trying to capture video from your existing Sony miniDisc using Roxio Creator 9 Basic? Is the disc "finalized"?

Correct,  a friend is using this to record her choir.  I want to put the music on a cd.  I was hoping to use it like I did with the 8mm aidio camra.

Sure it will, see the smaller ring in the tray made to fit the smaller disc?

Follow this to extract the audio from the DVD Disc...

Are you using a device like this? If yes, then you will actually need to use the bundled application like SonicStage to transfer the audio files to PC.
