I have Toast running in OSX, had it from Toast 7 then 8 and 9. Toast was running fine until I tried to open it before and the icon in the doc just bounced a few times then stopped. I tried reloading from the cd/ dvd deleted prefs, looked for the Div X files in Quicktime which I did not find. I wiped all my Toast files and reloaded from the DVD all the way up to the" drag to applications"
soon as I go to launch the file the icon bounces for a few seconds then disappears

Only difference from the last time I used toast is I replaced my ATI dvd drive to a dual write drive, I also blew my video card an ATI Radeon 9800 pro, I now have an old G4 card in it's place just for now.

Could any of these be the problem?

The only software issue that I'm aware of that causes crashes is the presence of Xvid codecs in a QuickTime Library folder. From what you're describing it sounds like there may be a hardware issue. Toast does access the optical drive during launch so that may be an issue but it could be some other hardware problem. I don't know what to advise.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Just to be sure I pulled the old G4 card I temporarily use in my G5 and replaced with the faulty ATI Radeon 9800 pro I pulled about two weeks ago and rebooted.
Since the card is faulty I was barely able to see the desktop due to interference lines but I was able to find the Toast 8 app and tried to open and it WORKED!

Which means it has to do with the video card. I realize the card I have in the G5 now is an old stock G4 card which has no video memory. I ordered a new 9800 Pro so my problem is not Toast.

thx
