I had to uninstall EMC 7.5 because of an apparent conflict created by BitDefender 2010.  Having now trashed BitDefender,as I attempt to reinstall EMC 7.5 from disk, in the middle of the reinstall, it stops and says "Insert disk" with no further description of what disk it's asking for and WITH the install disk still in the drive.  What's going on?  DO I NEED TO REINSTALL EMC 7.5 COMPLETELY TO MAKE MY BACKUP FILES CREATED BY SONIC BACKUPMYPC 6.0 USEABLE?   Right now, without EMC 7.5 installed, none of my backups or incremental backup disks are even identified when I insert then in the DVD drive.... Obviously, I have discovered this because I need to RESTORE some lost jpg's.  Any and all help would be appreciated.

Try this first  http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/conte...S=set-locale=en .
This should get you back to fresh starting point.

That did it.  Thanks!  I had used Windows Install Clean Up on Roxio, but not on Sonic.  Also, had not manually deleted the folders, nor did I know to do all the registry edits....  Once all done, reinstall went smoothly....  and the instructions all the way along the process were crystal clear.... Great job.

No problem.....all I did was point you to a place where to start.

PS

Another possible problem that has caused some headaches for some users of 7.5 is the update to IE 7 and WMP 11. Go here  http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showforum=39  for more info.

Good luck

I have had no problems with that  but now something else has cropped up that I suspect has to do with the 7.5 reinstall.  I HAVE LOST MY D DRIVE.  All of a sudden, after re-installing 7.5 and using my CD-ROM drive to do so, I have now lost it.  My Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop is not recognizing the drive.... Will have to research what to do... Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You're welcome.  The missing CD-ROM problem is actually a problem with MS, and their operating systems.  They have some KB articles on it, also.
