Was it working ok, and then you changed something, like added new DVD burners or updated XP.

Do you have Internet Explorer 7/8 or Media Player 11 installed? They would stop Easy Cd Creator 5 from working.

Okay Bill, this can be fixed quite easily for the Lite-On.

You need to get yourself updated to version 5.3.5 because the SOHW-1673S drives weren't supported until version 5.3.5v. You can get the updates here.

You didn't say, but I think your Easy CD Creator 5.1 is Platinum. If so, download the first two updates on that page. They're ecdc_v5_3_5_10_plt_enu.exe which is about 19 MB, and DriveUp5.3.5v.exe which is less than 1 MB.

If you have ECDC Basic, you grab the Driveup and the Basic updater which is a little under 12 MB.

In each version you apply the big updater first, and then the Driveup. Once you've done that and restarted Windows your Lite-On drive should be recognized by ECDC5.3.5v

The MEMOREX drive probably won't be recognised by that update. Try it and see. In the meantime, what is the EXACT identity string that you see in Device Manager for the Memorex?? I'll need that correctly in upper/lower case too please, since the computer sees MEMOREX differently from Memorex.

Brendon
