WMV "unsupported format"? convert WMV to DV

i tried to convert a WMV to DV.
i went to import the WMV into the convert panel.
i got "unsupported format".

.WMV is not natively supported on MacOS. However you could something like this

In addition to what Firehancer mentioned, if you can export your original files as .avi instead of .wmv, you can use Perian.
