I have toast 9 installed on my mac which is running snow leopard. In addition, I have a copy of tivo transfer that is supposed to work with snow leopard. I tried to put the tivo transfer in the toast 9 folder, but I was prevented from doing so. The a pop up message said I did not have the proper permissions, which seems strange because I am the system administrator. Further, the toast 9 application has disappeared from the toast 9 folder. Yesterday, in an attempt to remedy this situation, I purchased the Toast 10 upgrade from the Roxio online store. After I installed it I launched the Toast 10 application and checked for updates. I found I needed to upgrade to Toast 10.0.5. After downloading the toast 10.0.5 upgrade I tried installing it. I was asked if I wanted to replace Toast 10, so I said I did. Then I was told I did not have the proper permissions, and now when I check inside the Toast 10 folder the Toast 10 application is missing. What to do!

Try copying the Toast folder on the desktop instead of dragging it to Application folder. And of course, the obvious, try doing a permission fix. You would also check on the permission for the Toast application and ensure you have read/write permissions.
