My creator classic screen comes up all jumbled so I want to uninstall and re-install. If I do that, what happens to my saved projects?

First, did you upgrade your OS or IE or WMP? Those will cause problems with EMC 7. When did the screen become jumbled? Can you restore your computer to an earlier time using Windows restore?

Check to make sure that none of your projects, images, music, videos, etc are in any Roxio or Sonic folder. Back up your computer hard drive, make sure restore is working. Then uninstall and install.

Note those projects cannot be used in newer versions of the software so don't upgrade without finishing them or completing them (burn).

I had upgraded IE and WMP, had different EMC problems so rolled back IE and WMP. That solved my other problems but just now found signs of corrupt EMC when trying to create a CD. Windows restore was no help. What file extensions does Roxio use? I want to make sure I find them all to back them up.

Your best bet would be to completely uninstall ane re-install - rolling back quite often needs a re-install rather than a repair

dat, dmsm, dmsd for video. Since EMC 7 is very old, some of the extensions may have been different. Look in the folders you use when you save your projects. They should be there..
