I can burn my shows to a CD-RW as I get an error mesage with my Cd-R discs (dont know why)...

Question:  Can I burn my productions to a CD-RW and then burn it to a DVD in another computer that has Roxio AND a DVD Writer?

Thank you SO much.....

I'm not sure why you would want to go to all that trouble to burn a DVD. Why not just use a DVD+ or - R media and burn it to the computer that has the programming on it ?. ut saying that, I'm assuming you don't have the Roxio program, but have a burner.  BTW, if you want to keep that burned material for a long time forget burning to any RW media. It won't last that long as the material they use for RW media will fade out sooner or later.

What kind of shows, slideshows or video?

Are you trying to make a DVD on CD or are you trying to burn a completed movie or slideshow to a data cd?    We need a little more information please.

My slideshows have videos in them.  I tried using a DVD-R in my CD writer and it wouldnt let me burn it.  I plan on buying an external dvd writer...but I promised a DVD slide show and feel that the VCD might not have the quality and aesthetic I am aiming for...any thoughts?

The VCD slideshow will NOT have the quality that you are aiming for.

You'll need a DVD  writer to write a  DVD.   A CD writer will only write to CDs.

There's no easy way to transfer your program to another computer with Roxio.   You could burn all the .jpeg and video files as well as the .dmsm (VideoWave) and .dmsd (DVD Builder) files to multiple CDs and write them to a new folder on the other computer.   Then you'd have to open the VideoWave and DVD Builder files and relink them (Browse for missing files)

Your could also use an external hard drive to transfer the files easily.

However, IF your computer has a USB 2.0 port and you can afford it, an external DVD writer would probably be a lot easier.

I've never tried this before, but you can make your production and "burn" to an image, or ISO  file (use "Best" quality setting and ignore any complaints about disc size by whinny DVD Builder). Use Creator Classic to split and burn the ISO file to several CD's as a Multi-Disc project (look it up it in CC Help).

On the other computer you MUST use Roxio Retrieve to put the ISO file back together. Once you have your reconstituted ISO file, use Disc Copier to burn all the DVD's you want.

If your production is very small (~10 min or so), maybe you won't have to split the ISO file at all.
