I have a Macbook pro 15" with snow leopard and I had just downloaded Toast 10. I had been getting writing errors half way through burning dvds when i had 8 and assumed it was because of snow leopard so i upgraded. Now im getting this error that says:

Sense Key= Medium error
Sense code= 0x0C
Write Error.

Is it still snow leopard or my burner? Im using the internal one that came with the computer and had been burning discs just fine 3 months ago and have had the computer for a little over a year now. Any help would be MOST appreciated since i really want to get these DVD files off my harddrive since my flash drives are full.

I had a similar problem with my MacPro while using OS10.6. It turned out my DVD/CD burner was the problem. I had the unit replaced (it was covered by the Apple Protection Plan) and the problem went away.

The firmware on Apple's built-in drives is very picky about media especially when using Toast to burn discs. I suggest getting some Verbatim-brand discs and give those a try. Also set the burn speed at something slower than Best such as 4X. If you are using Toast 10.0.5 then download Toast 10.0.4 from Roxio's software updates page to see if that helps fix the problem.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Im using memorex and it had been using them just fine until about 2 months ago. And it let me burn one dvd this morning on said disc then it was like "nope not doing it" by getting the same error.

Insert one of those Memorex discs and choose Disc Info... in the Recorder menu. The window that appears includes a link to a site where people worldwide voluntarily submit their experience with different brands and types of DVD media. Memorex is typically one of the worst for burn reliability but I haven't looked at those reports in the past couple years. All drive manufacturers make certain their firmware works with Verbatim discs so you'll see at that site the high ratings given that media.

You can't afford a replacement or external drive. I don't guarantee this, but that may not be necessary if you buy better-quality media.
