I used EMC 7 for several years on Windows XP home edition. That computer has finally died. I purchased a Dell XPS 625 which came with Vista. I upgraded to Windows 7 Professional when it came out to be able to use the Windows XP Professional virtual mode for older programs not compatible with Win 7. Other programs install and work great on the XP virtual mode, but EMC 7 does not install properly. It gives me messages that these files were not installed: windows\system32\RICHTX32.ocx, programfiles\roxio\easymedia\soundeditor\roxioskin.dll, programfiles\commonfiles\roxioshared\sharedcom\roxthumbextractor.dll, programfiles\commonfiles\roxioshared\sharedcom\subpictenc.dll, programfiles\commonfiles\roxioshared\sharedcom\mgirawwriter.dll, programfiles\commonfiles\roxioshared\sharedcom\roxiompegprop.dll
When I try to start using EMC 7 I get a message that says: the application or dll c:\widows\system32\msvcp71.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
The only thing that is accessable and works is the drag to disc function.
Any help and solutions would be appreciated...not in a position to upgrade to a newer version.

Unfortunately, it is doubtful that you can get EMC 7 to work properly with your OS. EMC 7 was not compatible with Vista, either.
