I have several large iMovie files (DV format) that I would like to back up. Is there I way I can use Toast (6) to split a very large (12Gb) file over several DVDs?
Cheers,
Paul G,
Hobart.

Toast 7 can do this with its disc spanning feature but Toast 6 cannot. You need to export your video as individual 22-minute-maximum files to burn them as DV data discs with Toast 6. Another option you might consider is to "share" your iMovie files back to the DV camcorder, thereby saving your back up to miniDV tape. That option is in iMovie's Share menu.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!
